INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION “CIVITAS GEORGICA “კივიტას გეორგიკა”

International Association “Civitas Georgica” was established in 1996 by those who believe that Georgia is a country of European values. Our mission is to promote the establishment of democratic and efficient local government in Georgia, to assist democratic reforms and to advance the competent public participation in local decision-making. Based on its objectives the organization specializes in effecting policy change through institution building, organization and management development and training.

Civitas Georgica is recognized leader in training design and provision. The expertise areas include Governance, Advocacy, Civil Society, and Community Development, local economy, information management and regional development. The efficient division of responsibilities, the established and flexible team capable of employing updated methodologies and efficient external relations, let the activities of the organization always be extraordinarily qualified.

Civitas Georgica’s activities were always oriented on local development in Georgia. For us it means people in a local area or in a community of interest taking responsibility for creating changes in their community/organization without relying on others to do it for them. We advocate grassroots initiatives and support pro-active approaches.

Civitas Georgica is the member of Central and Eastern European Citizen’s Network (CEE CN), the European Network of Training Organizations (ENTO) and the national NGO coalition on decentralization.
