INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION PRAGUE INSTITUT PRO VEŘEJNOU SPRÁVU PRAHA

Institute for Public Administration Prague is a state allowance organization established by the Ministry of Interior. The Institute is in charge of providing of training for officials of territorial self-governing units. Training programmes focus on short-term courses enabling newly designated local government authorities’ staff to pass the necessary professional exams. In 2010 duties to provide training courses for employees of state administration authorities were overtaken. The Institute also offers a large number of specialized and proliferating courses as well as seminars.

Its headquarters is located in Prague but the Institute also disposes of the large training centre in Benešov (approximately 50 kms from Prague) where most training courses are held. The training centre is fully equipped with modern classrooms and the large congress hall as well as it disposes of accommodation and catering facilities for courses participants. There are altogether appoximately 55 employees in both premises.

The Institute is also active in the area of international cooperation on several levels. Among others it aims on realization of international projects or study visits for foreign public administration officials are being organized. Beside ENTO, the Instuite is also a member of a few well-renowned European public administration networks such as Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe (NISPACee) or Directors of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration (DISPA)meetings.
